How to Care for Your Low, Medium and High Porosity hair
What is Porosity?
Porosity is simply the hairs ability to absorb and retain moisture. As our hair ages, our hair’s layer begins to crack or peel which may result in unhealthy, damaged, brittle or dry hair. Keeping track of porosity, is essential to hair growth and thickness.
At times, hair tends to absorb more water than usual. If hair is too porous, it may start to feel dry, brittle, and may even shed more than normal.
Use deep conditioning hair masks that are infused with natural nourishing oils to keep your hair moisturized.
Groveda’s Organic Matcha Green Tea Hair Mask is one of the best solutions for these types of problems. You can visit www.grovedasolutions.com, for more details. Also consider our Intensive Hair Repair Mask to repair mild damaged or brittle hair. It’s loaded with herbs, vitamins and oils that your hair will surely love.
How to do a Porosity Test?
Great questions: Here’s one way to test porosity. It’s called “Float-Test”. This test is really easy. Get a cup of room temperature water. Then, place one dry strand of hair in the cup of water. If your hair starts to float, you may consider it low porosity. If it says in the middle, it is considered ‘normal’ Now, if it sinks to the bottom you have high porosity hair.
Now that you know how to run Porosity Test on your hair, run the tests and figure out what type of porosity you are.
